Having followed the 7-Layer for Breakfast ideology for some time (you know, you leave out a 7-Layer from the night before only to eat it the next morning for breakfast?) but Taco Bell’s coming up with a more legitimate way for you to have Taco Bell for breakfast.
Taco Bells in 10 different states have started serving breakfast to anyone awesome enough to stumble into a Taco Bell as early as 8 in the morning. They have a bunch of “normal” breakfasty tasting items, mostly crammed into tortillas, like the Bacon & Egg Burrito, Sausage & Egg Burrito, Steak & Egg Burrito, Sausage & Egg Wrap and the Grande Skillet Burrito as well as other breakfast “staples” like Hash Browns, and Fried Cinnabon Delights. My state isn’t one of the lucky few, so for now you’ll have to subsist on some other guy’s review of the each of the breakfast items, helpfully listed from not the most terrible to the most terrible.
I wouldn’t normally link to someone else’s negative review of Taco Bell, but everything he says seems pretty on point. Until I try it (if I ever get the chance) I’m on the fence about this whole thing. I love the flavors of Taco Bell but replacing every ingredient but the cheese and tortilla will likely destroy any likeness to the TB flavors I know and love. A good compromise is to open Taco Bell for breakfast in the morning but serve regular menu items. I don’t know about you, but I’d sure take advantage of it.
